Yakap-yakap is an interactive piece consisting of audio recordings montage and a quilt blanket
made by the featured people in the recordings. This piece is to be listened to while being
huddled/wrapped up in the blanket to simulate a deeply immersive and comforting experience,
where the stories and emotions of those featured in the recordings envelop and embrace you,
reinforcing the bonds of unity and resilience.

The title of this project “Yakap-yakap”, is a filipino term which translates to an act of holding
someone or something close, typically in an affectionate or comforting manner. This term is
often used to convey a sense of warmth, support, and emotional connection, as it represents the
physical gesture of hugging or embracing.
